Borderline Personality Disorder
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is characterized by unstable moods, bursts of anger, and an intense fear of abandonment. People with BPD may have tumultuous relationships and engage in compulsive behaviors such as self-harm, binge eating, and substance abuse.
While a very complicated diagnosis, BPD can successfully be treated with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other evidence-based treatments.
Through DBT, those struggling with BPD can learn the skills needed to gain control over life-threatening behaviors, better regulate their emotions, and learn healthier ways to cope with life stressors.
