Intensive Day Treatment
Patients in our Intensive Day Treatment Program live independently and come into the Camden Center clinical offices in Los Angeles or San Francisco on the days they are scheduled for treatment.
Intensive Day Treatment consists of 3 to 5 hours of treatment per day, 3 to 5 days per week, depending upon the patient's unique needs. Treatment consists of the specific treatment modalities chosen for each patient.
Patients typically begin treatment 5 days per week and gradually taper to fewer days per week as their symptoms improve and they begin to reincorporate activities outside of treatment back into their lives.
This level of care is optimal for patients who are sufficiently stable to live on their own and don’t need the additional support of our Treatment + Individualized Supportive Living program.
Levels of intensity
Our Intensive Day Treatment Program consists of the following two levels of intensity:
- Partial Hospitalization, which is a minimum of 5 hours of treatment per day, 5 days per week
- Intensive Outpatient, which is 3 to 4 hours of treatment per day, 3 to 5 days per week
The amount and types of treatment are individually selected for each patient and often change over the course of treatment as symptoms improve.

Third Party Transitional Living / Sober Living Facility
For patients who need or prefer a more communal supportive living environment while in treatment at Camden Center, our admissions team can help coordinate admission to one of several independent local transitional living or sober living facilities with whom we work closely.
