Eating Disorders
Eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder can severely impact a person’s health. Symptoms of eating disorders such as restricting calories, binging large amounts of food, and regularly purging can have lasting effects on both mental and physical health.
Eating disorders can affect people of all ages and genders, and often develop from a combination of psychological, biological, behavioral, and social factors. People with eating disorders are at higher risk for suicide and often have co-occurring disorers such as anxiety or depression.
Because of the long-term impacts associated with eating disorders, it’s important to seek treatment early. Through therapy and integrative treatments such as nutritional counseling, a complete recovery is possible.
