Alix Simonson

Alix Simonson, PsyD, received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Politics from Oberlin College in Ohio. She earned her Doctorate of Psychology from the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium at Palo Alto University, her doctoral internship at the downtown Los Angeles VA Hospital, and her postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Dr. Simonson is trained in a variety of trauma-focused interventions, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and treatments that address psychosis and severe mental illness. She has worked in a wide range of clinical settings, including inpatient psychiatric units, hospitals, and outpatient specialty clinics. Dr. Simonson also specializes in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Dr. Simonson’s clinical approach centers on the individual, their unique intersectional identity, and lived experiences in order to help them reach their goals within the framework of tailored evidence-based treatments. She believes in the importance of being truly seen and accepted in order to make change and feel empowered.

At Camden Center, Dr. Simonson supports patients through the Comprehensive DBT Program, the Eos LGBTQIA+ Program, and serves as a Clinical Team Lead.
