Judy Metz, PsyD, LMFT, received a master’s degree in educational psychology from California State University, Northridge, a master’s degree in clinical psychology and organizational management from Antioch University, and a Doctor of Psychology from California Graduate Institute in Los Angeles.

As a psychotherapist and a licensed marriage and family therapist, Dr. Metz has helped patients reduce their symptoms of anxiety and depression and live a life of authenticity and integrity.

Dr. Metz has held positions in education, training and documentation, healthcare business analysis, and management. The knowledge and skills she gained in her past positions, particularly case presentation, clinical analysis, and creative problem solving, have been instrumental as she advocates for Camden Center’s patients.

In her role as director of utilization review, Dr. Metz liaises with insurance companies — starting at admission and continuing through treatment — to advocate for the maximum amount of covered care for each patient.

She collaborates with the patient’s clinical team and then analyzes, consolidates, and presents the most relevant clinical information to an insurance company’s care managers and medical directors that supports the authorization for a patient’s care.
