Michael Scheer, LMFT, earned his master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from University of Southern California (USC). He specializes in addiction, personality disorders, and developmental, relational, and shock trauma.

Michael’s therapeutic orientation is based in the foundations of psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychotherapy, as well as somatic, behavioral, and cognitive therapies. He is a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP) certified through the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute, a NeuroAffective Relational Model™ practitioner, and is trained in Pia Mellody's Post-Induction Therapy.

Michael previously worked for The Institute for Sexual Health in Los Angeles, where he specialized in the sex addiction-induced trauma model (SAITM). There, he worked with individuals, couples, and families struggling with sex addiction, sex offending, and problematic sexual behavior.

At Camden Center, Michael is a primary therapist and trauma therapist. His work with clients is centered on building trusting therapeutic relationships wherein patients are given the space, guidance, and support to evolve and develop their internal and somatic awareness. This helps patients increase the psychobiological and psychological functioning necessary to address the challenges in their life.
